Within Widen, children start disappearing, and it becomes clear that the town’s inhabitants are concealing troubling secrets from one another. Strange occurrences begin to surface: lights malfunction, birds die unexpectedly, and something inexplicable seems to be present within the forest's caves. These unsettling events echo incidents that occurred previously in Widen—specifically, those of 1986 and even earlier years back in 1953. As the town’s mysteries and its residents’ hidden lives are brought to light, the narrative develops into a genuinely frightening and upsetting conclusion. I found this series to be brimming with mystery, concealed truths, suspense, and even elements of time travel. It shares similarities with *Stranger Things*, but feels like a more mature take on that concept, incorporating time travel instead of an otherworldly creature. Each installment kept me completely engrossed and offered hints about what was yet to unfold. A surprising revelation occurs in episode five, after which the plot intensifies considerably. There's also a significant amount of infidelity and intimate encounters, particularly noticeable throughout the initial season. While I managed to figure out who one character really was before their identity was officially revealed, most of the clues are cleverly obscured and difficult to notice unless you watch again afterward. The conclusion of the second season leaves viewers with a substantial unresolved issue, leaving me eager for a third installment. *Dark* is absolutely something you’ll want to watch in large chunks!
