Synopsis

Square openly mocked Mainwaring over the sorry condition of his men’s rifles. The captain bristled at the remark, though inwardly he attributed the problem to Wilson's lenient inspections and a general lack of competence. But further embarrassment awaited when the Air Raid Precautions officers formally accused Mainwaring of allowing an unshielded light to shine from the church where his platoon was stationed.
