Synopsis

Mr. Renkins was having trouble with his vineyard. A colony of gophers had taken up residence beneath the soil, pilfering his prized grapes. Distressed, he hired Calhoun, a renowned exterminator, to deal with the pests. George, however, felt a pang of sympathy for the creatures. He couldn't bear the thought of them being harmed, even if he intended to relocate them. Instead, he resolved to construct a tunnel connecting his home to the Renkins' garden, providing the gophers with an escape route.
