Synopsis

The pilfering of a leg of mutton sets in motion a series of events destined to trouble the inhabitants of one Cranford household. With the approach of Christmas comes an invitation for Miss Matty, one she is gently urged to accept. Dr. Harrison’s friend, Jack, encourages him to declare his affections to Sophy, only to subsequently enact a cruel jest.
