It's hard to overstate how impressive this anime is; even after two decades, very few works have come close to matching its quality. The animation is lively and engaging, the music is superb—just listen to the opening theme—and while the sound effects are merely adequate, everything else is exceptional: a captivating plot, memorable characters, and so much more.
