Jensen Ackles possesses a likable and easygoing charm on screen, which makes it disappointing to find him featured in something as unremarkable and dull as "Countdown." It’s just another predictable crime thriller filled with tired tropes that portrays the United States and its legal system as virtuous. The presentation is simplistic and superficial, lacking any real depth or nuance. Maybe viewers within a specific segment of the American audience will find it entertaining, but I can't imagine it having much broader appeal; although, perhaps that wasn’t the intention anyway. Ultimately, it’s another formulaic US crime drama seemingly intended for domestic consumption. It makes for an uninspired and unbelievable viewing experience, to put it mildly.
