Synopsis

The man who operated the squad's Browning Automatic Rifle, and a friend of Saunders', was killed. Kirby expected Saunders to relinquish the weapon to him. Instead, Saunders chose to give it to a cook who had qualified on the B.A.R. during basic training. The death of this new man rendered Saunders’ decision irrelevant.
