Synopsis

Hanley was detached from his post and dispatched to London. There, he learned of a clandestine mission: to assist a French physicist in fleeing occupied France before the Gestapo could intercept him. Hanley had been friends with the scientist’s son during their time at university, and spent a summer at the family’s home in France. He was, it transpired, the only person the scientist would trust, particularly given the recent discovery that an individual within the French resistance aiding their
