Synopsis

The platoon of Saunders and Hanley gained a new member in Moseby Lovelace, a replacement from Georgia. He arrived with a fresh pair of boots, which quickly became the object of considerable envy among the men, particularly Saunders. Lovelace, eager for combat, showed little enthusiasm for the routine duties of a soldier, like digging foxholes.
