Synopsis

The assembled family and friends mark the company's annual gathering, but Commodore Otis Swanson finds himself increasingly troubled by the transformation of his shipbuilding firm under the stewardship of son-in-law, Charles Clay. He grows weary of the company's sprawling, impersonal nature and resents those he considers burdens: his alcoholic daughter Joanna, his unreliable nephew Swanny, and Charles himself.
