I decided to watch this mainly because Nicola Walker is in it; she consistently delivers good performances. While I really enjoyed her work in River and Unforgotten, it was nice to see her in a police-adjacent show playing someone other than a detective—she was excellent as a suspect in another series previously. There’s quite a bit happening throughout this series, so you need to pay attention while watching. One reviewer mentioned that some of the characters' backgrounds felt unnecessary, and I can sort of see their point, but I often find shows or movies dealing with conspiracies fairly predictable at times. However, regardless of whether it was deliberate or not, all the shifting elements kept things interesting and left me guessing about where different plot threads would lead. Overall, I found it to be an enjoyable experience. My only slight disappointment is that a few characters didn't receive the outcomes I felt they warranted.
