Synopsis

The 1979 murder of a schoolteacher, who was found stabbed to death in a wooded area, is thrust back into the light. A bloodstained jacket belonging to the victim is discovered concealed within a tree trunk, a cheerful key chain bearing a smiley face nestled in one of its pockets. The case, a formative experience for the young detective Jeffries, was initially investigated during his first years on the force.
