Synopsis

A motorist driving along a rural road in South Carolina noticed a fire and reported it. Responding officers found the severely burned and damaged remains of a woman; her skull had been shattered into ninety-seven separate fragments. A forensic anthropologist at the University of South Carolina meticulously reassembled the bones, and investigators were then able to use the skull to unravel the circumstances of her death.
