The newest season of Citadel, like the first, feels largely like an exercise in style over substance. It’s difficult to tell this season apart from some kind of extravagant, James Bond-inspired runway show. The buildings, sets, costumes, and even the weaponry all have a high-fashion feel; it's spy versus spy geared toward those interested in fashion. The plot itself is quite simple, featuring another powerful woman confronting a global organization linked to her parents’ deaths. The performances are actually fairly good, and the straightforward story manages to function adequately. As usual, the explanatory scenes are well-executed, even if they're absurd. I do find the constant shifts between timelines rather distracting, though. Ultimately, Citadel Diana avoids being as dull as its previous installment thanks to the quality of the acting and, so far (having not finished watching), for keeping the story relatively uncomplicated. It’s a decent enough watch overall.
