Synopsis

By the close of the nineteenth century, Chicago irrevocably altered the American table, and the Union Stockyards on the South Side stood as the heart of that transformation. Here, amidst a vivid tapestry of sights, sounds, and inescapable odors, lay the sprawling complex of meat factories known as Packingtown.
