Conan tranquilized Yamamura and revealed the murderer: Tokobi. He explained that combining the water bottle and paint bottles would have yielded enough swamp water to carry out the crime. The water was then poured into a basin, where Bonzou was suffocated. This was evidenced by the diluted paint still present in the containers.
