Synopsis

A cryptic letter summoned them to Moonshima, a tiny island in the Izu Peninsula, penned by an anonymous client. The summons was perplexing; the client, it seemed, was a pianist who had perished twelve years prior, mid-performance of Beethoven's "Moonlight" sonata. It was during the third memorial service for the late former mayor, held at the community center – a place I’d sought out to learn more about the client – that the haunting melody of "Moonlight" drifted through the air.
