The final episode was truly awful. What made the season so good – all that suspense and intrigue, along with occasional bursts of action – evaporated into a ridiculously nonsensical ending. It's baffling; the police were already at their home after learning Max Cady had escaped... but they just searched the place and then left? Wouldn’t it have made sense to ensure their safety by placing them in protective custody? The whole thing felt incredibly foolish.
