Synopsis

Candy occupied herself with a sullen inactivity at Pony’s residence, a habit that led Jimmy, a recent arrival, to question her authority and treat her with disdain. He challenged her to a race of running and climbing, oblivious to her considerable skill in those pursuits. Candy prevailed, and in doing so, earned his respect.
