Synopsis

The day before her departure for Mexico, Candy intended a farewell visit with Anthony. Instead, she witnessed him vehemently rebuking his great-aunt, who had forbidden her cousins from associating with Candy, labeling her a "thief." A warmth spread through Candy at the thought that both Anthony and his family held faith in her, yet she couldn't bear the idea of him severing ties with his relatives because of her. She resolved to write him each day from Mexico.
