Synopsis

Neil tried to poison the horses, but a shadow darted into the barn and struck him, then fled as quickly as Candy arrived. Eliza seized the opportunity to accuse Candy of causing Neil’s bruised eye. Torn between his own pride, Eliza's expectations, and his mother's firm instructions, Neil chose to place the blame on Candy. Candy suspected it had been Albert.
