A presence lingers just beyond the threshold. What is it? He’s out in the yard… It’s terribly frightening.

"What day is it?" "The day you made a terrible mistake, Mark."

He asked me, quite simply, to collect a bag from his residence. The request struck me as remarkably odd.

I realize this may sound peculiar, but I feel as though my arms are lengthening, growing somehow.

The act is done. I’ve taken a life. I call now to offer myself. If you wish to dispatch someone to this location, I will await their arrival.

The last time we spoke, you confessed a love that had anchored itself to you since the eighth grade, a feeling you knew would endure.

And then, a connection will form with another, sometime in the years to come. Or perhaps, with someone from a time gone by – one can only hope for the latter.

"Captain," the voice was strained, barely a whisper. "Our flight—this flight—it’s being reported everywhere. They’re saying we’ve crashed somewhere over Phoenix."

For the sake of everything, please set aside any lingering difficulties with your father. The world's future hinges on it.
