Synopsis

The story opens with Mary Beth intervening to prevent a successful businesswoman from taking her own life. The woman’s life, though outwardly prosperous, is marred by crippling gambling debts. Following her death, the protagonists find themselves compelled to hunt down the loan shark who orchestrated the woman's demise. To gain access to the city's underbelly and make necessary connections, C&L decide to immerse themselves in the world of gambling.
