Synopsis

The sudden passing of a potter’s wife prompted him to abandon all that he knew and seek solace within the walls of the Abbey. Yet, whispers followed him there; suspicion amongst the monks hinted at darker involvement in his bereavement. Brother Cadfael, drawn into the inquiry, uncovered a tangled skein of jealousy, betrayal, and the shadow of self-destruction as he sought to discern the truth behind her death.
