Burn the House Down presents a captivating Japanese series based on Fujisawa Moyashi’s manga, weaving together elements of mystery, concealed family history, and retribution over its eight episodes. The narrative progresses in an accessible way, maintaining suspense through unexpected developments and a sense of coherence that holds the audience's attention. Though Anzu’s quest for vengeance doesn't immediately seem believable, and her father’s passive nature can be irritating, the changing relationship between Anzu and the mysterious Makiko introduces considerable emotional complexity. Kyoka Suzuki gives a noteworthy performance as Makiko, displaying both composure and cunning.
