Synopsis

Caplan encounters the Unseen, who subjected him to brutal torture, demanding a confession of his role in Mercks' demise. Roxanne and Myriam Morlighem, meanwhile, resolve to extract and exploit him as leverage. Colonel Dantin, head of the Unseen, impressed by Caplan’s courage and reputation as a fearless, albeit compromised, officer, proposes a replacement for their fallen comrade. Caplan agrees, accepting payment in cash to assume control of the gold shipments and negotiate directly with Arifa.
