Synopsis

Pope Alexander VI condemned Savonarola to death by hanging after the Dominican friar confessed to heresy under torture. With his final breath, Savonarola cursed Cesare Borgia and his entire family, invoking God's name. Later, Cesare attended Midnight Mass and lit the customary fireworks of Florence. Alessandro, his lifelong companion, offered a blessing of "peace of God," though it was the earthly power of peace that truly held Cesare’s attention.
