Synopsis

Young Billy Wilcox stumbled onto the Ponderosa, weakened by hunger and illness, utterly alone. Ben Cartwright discovered him, and once Billy had recovered his strength, offered him work on the ranch. Jennifer Yardley, who was visiting the Cartwrights with her father, took an interest in the boy. However, Billy’s thoughts were consumed by a lawman's arrival in town; he carried a past that threatened to resurface – having killed a man years ago in self-defense, he had fled rather than face trial.
