Synopsis

A group of former Confederate soldiers confronted Ben, demanding twenty-five thousand dollars. When Hoss refused to yield and attempted to defend himself, their leader, Shanklin, fired a shot that struck Hoss in the abdomen. Hovering between life and death, Hoss’s condition worsened until the doctor was forced to concede he could not complete the surgery. A grief-stricken Ben then managed to convince Shanklin – a man of evident skill and medical expertise – to intervene and save his son's life.
