Synopsis

Summoned to testify in a distant case involving timber speculation, Roy enlists Hoss to temporarily assume the duties of sheriff. Hoss soon discovers he has his work cut out for him, contending with a hesitant groom plotting a theft intended to discourage his forceful fiancée; and a tenacious salesman eager to peddle shares in a resort venture near Virginia City. Can Virginia City ever truly escape its present course?
