Synopsis

Adam and Hoss lend their help to a German engineer working to refine the technique of square set timbering within the mines. This story draws on actual events and marks the first episode to exclude all four Cartwright brothers. Throughout, Hoss speaks fondly of Emily, a woman he once loved, as seen in "The Newcomers."
