Synopsis

Len Keith, a miner, sought to buy a parcel of land bordering the Ponderosa from rancher Andy McKaren. Andy’s son, Tod, was eager for the sale to proceed. Keith had extended an offer of partnership and, more significantly, harbored affection for Andy's daughter. When Ben cautioned Andy that a mine on the property would contaminate the Ponderosa water supply, Andy reluctantly agreed not to complete the transaction.
