The world has fallen to zombies, and small bands of people are struggling to stay alive. It seems like nobody can be trusted or remain untouched as they make their way toward what’s supposed to be a secure stadium. The story unfolds in brief, intense segments filled with action. There's also just the right amount of background information about the characters, including some surprising revelations. As they battle for survival, relationships develop and are put under pressure. What sets this show apart from others is its focus on the people involved. Every character has their own story and motivation for wanting to live, and the actors portray them exceptionally well. I appreciated seeing how they were initially isolated, dealing with hardship and grief before eventually uniting. It was a smart way of setting up the eventual merging of the groups. I also enjoyed that the show highlights other survivors as a significant danger in addition to the zombies themselves. And did I mention the speed at which these zombies move—they run! There’s even a disturbing scene showing a girl dying and immediately transforming right before the viewer's eyes. This is easily one of the best zombie shows I’ve seen, and I am eagerly hoping for a second season.
