This zombie series is really impressive—a significant step up from something as poorly made as "The Walking Dead." The atmosphere is consistently suspenseful, and it avoids the pointless emotional storylines that plague TWD. The music creates a genuinely frightening mood, and the zombies themselves are far more sophisticated than those in "The Walking Dead"; they move quickly and people transform into them much faster, bringing to mind the creatures from the film "28 Weeks Later." Each installment offers something engaging, and the characters feel fully realized. Both the performances and the visual style are well-executed. In my view, it’s currently the strongest zombie television program available. If you enjoy melodramatic shows like TWD, this probably isn't for you.
