Synopsis

The Johnsons attended Jack and Diane’s school production commemorating Columbus Day, and Dre was disheartened by the historically skewed depiction of the event. A sense of lacking recognition for Black history weighed on him, prompting him to seek Aloe Blacc’s assistance at work. Together, they began crafting a memorable song to draw attention to Juneteenth, a holiday deserving of celebration.
