I’ve had a complicated relationship with "Black Bullet." I began watching the anime several years back, but after only two episodes, I put it aside. Now I’ve finished the entire series, and these are my impressions. The pacing of “Black Bullet” felt off. It seems like more time could have been devoted to exploring things—it all appeared very compressed and hurried. However, I'm not sure if the story was engaging enough to justify a longer run or another season. Important developments were brought up quickly and then glossed over, leaving me occasionally puzzled during or after an episode. The writing presented some issues for me. It’s possible I simply wasn’t paying close attention at times, but very little is revealed about Rentarou's personality. We do get a few details about him (🦾🦿), but nothing substantial to really understand who he is as a person. Takuto Yasuwaki’s storyline as an antagonist felt pointless; it didn't have any impact or effect on the overall narrative. There’s also something that bothers me, and I know this is a minor thing—some anime include conversations about female characters’ bodies that feel out of place. More significantly, I found the way the 'Cursed Children' are portrayed to be unsettling. These children are being sexualized in a manner that feels inappropriate. I noticed it at various points, and I just find it odd. I apologize again for any errors—English isn't my first language.
