Ilse felt a growing unease regarding Naomi, while Tertius aligned himself with Conrad in opposition to Annelize. A flicker of envy crossed Annelize's face as Steve was granted an opportunity she desired. At rebuked Conrad sharply for his conduct. Ilse was lost in a wistful remembrance of the past, and a strained silence hung between At and Dirk. Conrad’s courageous act, however, attracted a degree of unwelcome scrutiny.
