It’s surprising how little recognition this series receives among anime fans; it truly deserves more praise. Guts’ character arc is captivating, progressing seamlessly and amplifying the emotional impact of difficult scenes. Casca stands out as a remarkable female character, easily one of the best in 90s animation. While the visuals show their age, I still find the artwork and action sequences appealing, even with their limited movement. The soundtrack is exceptional, featuring numerous memorable pieces. The voice acting, across the English, Japanese, and Russian versions that I’ve sampled, is quite impressive. You should definitely check this anime out.
