Synopsis

Franz walked a street lined with the departed, accompanied by two angels. He found Mieze there, only to have her slip from his grasp and vanish. Meanwhile, Reinhold languished in prison, condemned for acts committed under an assumed identity. His suffering was compounded by the impending release of his cellmate—and lover. Franz himself was then led away to an asylum, and much of what followed unfolded within the landscape of his mind. The moment he was struck by a car was repeated, with differen
