Beacon 22 presents an interesting concept—a lighthouse situated in space—though the execution doesn't quite live up to the premise. It attempts to blend elements of mystery, thriller, and science fiction action-adventure. However, it struggles with a lack of clarity; events unfold without a clear connection, creating a muddled narrative that feels unnecessarily busy. There’s not a logical explanation for this disjointedness. Certain aspects of the backstory also feel out of place. It's odd to see advanced technology alongside primitive solutions like using a metal rod to fix the light mechanism—it seems contradictory and strange. The second season suffers from even greater incoherence than the first, and it’s mostly dull as a result. The production values are acceptable; the sets are adequate, the performances are passable, and the special effects are generally good. Ultimately, Beacon 22 had potential but is held back by its confusing plot and stretches of tediousness.
