Synopsis

Television cameras capture the opening concert of the Diamond Jubilee season of the Henry Wood Promenade Concerts at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Featuring the BBC Symphony Orchestra, led by Paul Beard and conducted by Sir Malcolm Sargent, the program also includes Eileen Joyce on piano. The evening is introduced by Alvar Lidell.
