Synopsis

This Prom presents a collection of musical glimpses from the Americas, anchored by Dvorák's celebrated 'New World' Symphony. The program features two works from North America alongside a vibrant trumpet concerto that evokes the spirit of Latin America. Composed by Mexican artist Arturo Márquez and performed by Venezuelan virtuoso Pacho Flores on four different trumpets, the concerto offers a rich tapestry of sound. Fellow trumpeter Alison Balsom curates this presentation.
