Celebrating her 80th year and the 50th anniversary of her seminal album, *Young, Gifted and Black*, the Proms honor Aretha Franklin, the ‘Queen of Soul.’ A singer, songwriter, pianist, and one of the most commercially successful recording artists in history, Franklin’s song ‘Respect’ resonated as a powerful anthem for the American Civil Rights Movement.
