Synopsis

Marin Alsop, a protégé of Leonard Bernstein, is scheduled to conduct the Proms with one of America's leading symphony orchestras. The program promises to be both musically compelling and politically resonant, featuring Dmitri Shostakovich's Fifth Symphony alongside Gustav Mahler's Second Symphony, a work also composed by Bernstein himself.
