Synopsis

The opening night of the Proms concludes with *Harmonium*, a brilliant choral work by John Adams, the celebrated American composer, who marks his seventieth year this year. This thrilling and captivating composition sets to music the poetry of John Donne and Emily Dickinson, performed by the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Symphony Chorus, and the BBC Proms Youth Choir, under the baton of Edward Gardner.
