Clare Teal, singer and broadcaster, leads a spectacular performance by a big band in this Prom. The program offers a vibrant journey to the music of the 1930s and 1940s, celebrating the enduring sounds of Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Count Basie, Tommy Dorsey, Stan Kenton, and others. A special tribute is also paid to Mary Lou Williams, the quietly influential giant of the big band era.
