Synopsis

Sakari Oramo conducts his inaugural Last Night of the Proms, with the esteemed Dutch violinist Janine Jansen as soloist. The concert celebrates the anniversary of Richard Strauss, featuring the Proms premiere of his remarkable cantata, *Taillefer*. Ansell’s spirited nautical overture, *Plymouth Hoe*, and Ravel’s vibrant gypsy-dance, *Tzigane*, provide colourful highlights to this musical occasion, concluding with the traditional mass singalong.
