Synopsis

Strauss's unflinching and powerfully dramatic adaptation of the Greek revenge myth, *Elektra*, concludes this weekend’s opera pairing. The BBC Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Semyon Bychkov, features an international ensemble of soloists, with American soprano Christine Goerke as Elektra and Danish baritone Johan Reuter as her cherished brother, Orestes.
