Synopsis

The Ulster Orchestra presents its annual Free Prom this Bank Holiday, a vibrant matinee filled with dance rhythms and rich colour. The concert begins with a selection of Dvořák’s lively Slavonic Dances, evoking a rustic charm. This spirited mood is sustained by Grieg’s piano concerto, culminating in a playful, dance-inspired finale. The programme concludes with Bax’s evocative tone-poem Roscatha, followed by a new suite by Bill Whelan, adapted from his music for the enduringly popular Riverdance
