The English Proms continue this weekend with Elgar’s Cello Concerto, a work imbued with a melancholic, autumnal quality, born from the shadow of the Great War. Renowned Norwegian cellist Truls Mørk joins the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra for this performance, marking the orchestra's inaugural visit to the Proms. The concert, led by Proms regular Sir Andrew Davis, opens with Richard Strauss’s dazzling tone poem depicting the legendary Don Juan, followed by Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique, whose fi
